AUSTRALIA: Retail Food Group Posts Strong H1 Figures

Retail food Group, the food chain franchise operator, has seen its first-half net profit jump up 19% to A$10.6m, from A$8.9m last year, despite the challenging retail conditions. Revenue for the half grew by an even stronger 39% to A$69.7m, while operating profit was up 18% to A$19.8m. Total franchise network sales grew to A$320.9m.

The group now operates 1,066 franchise outlets, including the Donut King, Brumby's Bakeries, Michel's Patisserie and bb's café banners.

The company said it had a "strong performance and robust cash position", and also reported a 90% jump in net operating cash inflows. It added that it "enjoys a diversified revenue base which provides strong platform for growth and increased shareholder value".
